New blog post | The Black Sea Coast of Turkey 🇹🇷😍 This was our first time driving in Turkey with our Defender and we fell in love with this beautiful country once again!

We spent 7 days exploring the Black Sea Coast region on our way from Bulgaria to Georgia, made around 2000km and spent around 500€ in total. Mila was 3 years old and Leo was just 6 months old. Everywhere we went we felt welcomed and safe as (wild) camping is so popular in Turkey and they adore kids on top of that. Hands down one of the best destinations for such trips!

Our favorite moments & places in this parts of Turkey:
* swimming in the turquoise sea at Yardibi beach
* strolling the streets of the gorgeous coastal town Amasra
* hanging out with Turkish families and experiencing their picnicking culture while wild camping
* driving the backroads up to Anzer Yaylasi and staying with the most hospitable warm family
* sunsets, tea, baklavas, watermelons, fresh bread and cheese

You know that feeling when Saturday night used to be all about dancing and cocktails and getting a bunch of phone numbers you’re never gonna call and now it’s like fireplace, a glass of wine and Google maps planning your next family road trip adventures? #letsgosomewhere #landylove

Augsburg 🇩🇪 in all of its Autumn glory ☀️🍂 We just spent 5 days in the city with all the 3 kids including Lu last week and loved it! It’s always good to be back in Germany for a quick visit.

I stare at this one and remember all I was feeling a year ago when Leo was just a thing on the ultrasound picture. When my mom just passed away 🖤 and I tried to find sense in bringing another human being to this world which is eventually gonna die anyway. It wasn’t easy back then 💔

But then again, I look at him now and my heart physically aches from love and I know it was meant to be. So remember, it will be ok. Whatever it is, take the best from it and enjoy it while it lasts 🤍 #love

Last weeks have been kinda busy and our schedule is full since we came back from our trip a month ago, because we have so many things to catch up on now. I sometimes feel like I have 254 tabs opened in my brain but I can’t seem to finish anything. Also, Leo is getting bigger and sleeps less which often leaves me with zero time for myself. But you know what. I kick myself out of the house every day and enjoy this beautiful nature and I swear life is immediately better when you get some fresh air 💨🍂🍁 #kranjskagora #slovenia

I just had to add some pics from our (unexpected) time in Istanbul at the end of our overland trip to the Caucasus. It was our 3rd visit and we fell in love with it once again! Since we have already done most of the sightseeing we now really just enjoyed its vibes, roamed around aimlessly, ate gooood (and a lot), did a bit of shopping and played with the famous city cats 🥰 #istanbul #türkiye

Our route back home from Armenia was different to what we had initially planned but oh boy we were blown away by these landscapes of Eastern Anatolia 🧡 How gorgeous is this places?! I know we will be back one day ✌🏼#turkey #easternanatolia

What if I fall? Oh but my darling, what if you fly?

Do you let your kids fly? Or do you run after them screaming “stop, wait, don’t go there, slow down”?
I know it’s sometimes challenging. And oops, I sometimes scream those words too. Rarely, but I do. And then I bite my tongue and say “oh nevermind”. Because trust me, it’s so rewarding to see them master different situations on their own. Even if they fall sometimes, they will learn and they will get better at it. And they will not be afraid.

Would we be better off at home in our well-known environment, in our safe little bubble where everything is easy peasy rather than embarking on a long overland trip with a baby and a toddler to unknown countries, places we’ve never visited before? Sure.

But is this how I want to live? Is this how I want our kids to grow up? No. I don’t want them to be in that safe bubble all the time. I want them to face some challenges and get out of the comfort zone and learn that they can survive in that environment as well.

You don’t need to travel far in order to give your kids this experience and freedom. This is just how we do it. You can do it differently. Just let them fly here and there 🤍 #family #life

Azat reservoir was one of our favorite spots in Armenia 🧡
Such a scenic drive, we didn’t expect to find such landscapes so close to the country’s capital city Yerevan. There’s also plenty spots for overnight stays with amazing views on the lake below 🤍 Swipe for more pics #azatreservoir #armenia

It was supposed to be a short break of maybe 2 or

It was supposed to be a short break of maybe 2 or 3 nights but in the end we stayed 8 days ☺️

@camping3gs was our home base in Armenia. We had a few days off from travelling and enjoyed the pool, took the time to cook and took advantage of a real oven in the shared kitchen. The day of our first departure attempt we said goodbye to Sandra, our lovely host, and drove down to Yerevan. We wanted to spend a few hours in the city and sleep at lake Kari that evening. But our Defender started to sing high tones and we didn’t like this sound at all. So we decided to scratch that plan and return to our camping.

In the following days we tried to find out what the problem was but with no 100% success. We could eliminate some things but there were still some options. We drove to the official Land Rover service in Yerevan but they weren’t very helpful as our car is too old. In any case, new parts would take 1–2 months to be delivered and we didn’t have that much time.

We then thought the problem could be in one specific part and by some crazy coincidence I had two girls amongst my followers, who were flying into Yerevan that evening! Both offered to bring the spare parts. So we arranged everything, there were many persons involved, from our mechanic in Ljubljana, to my aunt, dad & them two. And also Wizz air for not canceling the flight or losing their bags 😂

It turned out one of these girls had a room booked just 3km from our camping! Like what are the odds?? So we picked up the parts and exchanged them the next day. The car was running much better and this part definitely had to be changed but unfortunately it didn’t save our primary problem. But we ended up having a nice Slovene gathering at the camping with both of the girls involved into bringing the parts from Slovenia. One of them was traveling to Armenia with her partner and their 6 months old baby 😍 And the other one was a solo traveller, heading over to Georgia to do some trekking.

So we decided to drive home and cross our fingers we make to Istanbul where we found a LR specialized mechanic.

Vashlovani NP was one of the most remote areas we

Vashlovani NP was one of the most remote areas we drove in during this trip. Located in the most eastern parts of Georgia, close to Azerbaijani border, this is a unique semi-desert arid area with steppe vegetation and some forests, canyons, cliffs and flood plains.

It really gives one that African safari feeling and if you’re lucky you can even spot gazelles. It was something completely different to other places we’ve been to in Georgia and it’s a great choice if you’re looking for lonely tracks and wilderness. #vashlovani #georgia
